How many people out there used to eat paste in elementary school?

How many people out there used to eat paste in elementary school?
Oh yeah! I remember the class taking turns going up to the sink in the classroom and having to tear off a piece of paper towel and then digging into that big jar of paste. I'd always put extra on mine. One side of the paper towel was for the thing I was making and the other side was for "dip" so I could eat something during art. I thought it was minty and sweet. But you have to eat it while its soft cause once it got crusty it wasn't so good.

I didn't eat it, I just loved to smell it.
I did, but only after it dried, then I would peel it off and eat it. Yuck!

It's so funny that you asked that because I was just talking to my friends about that very thing and everyone one of us ate it. First we would smell it and then eat it. Just like getting copies from the Xerox machine, the teacher would hand out the papers and then we would smell it...or how about getting a brand new school book? Brand new school books just smelled so good back then...funny huh?
That was good stuff !! I haven't had any in like 40 years. Now I have a paste craving. Thanks alot : (
