How long is the average amount of time you have had to wait for blood lab results to get back from the doctor?
A week at the most.
1 week usually
1-3 days.
Atleast 2 weeks
Usually 2 days, 1 in is done early in the morning. If it is done in the er, usually just an hour.
Depends on your Doctor. Some doctors have a web page you can sign into, to get the results.
depends on the type of hospital ...but usually in 3-4 days ..
1.5 days avg.
in the emergency room, 2 hours. +P
Most doctors will schedule a follow-up appt to discuss the results, which obviously allows them to charge you for another visit. But I can tell you from experience as an employee for the nation's largest clinical testing company that (for 99.9% of blood tests), the results are accessible to your doc the next morning after the specimen is taken.
Your doctor will enter your information into our system, our courier will pick up your blood from his/her office, it will be processed and sent to the lab for testing, and he can access that same program the following morning to view the results.
So, if you're in a hurry for results (and your doc's not a total jerk), ask if you can come by and have him discuss the results ASAP. They probably won't tell you over the phone due to "privacy issues," but you could always give that a shot, also.
